Karen Jenkins, NP
Karen Jenkins, AGNP, earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Nursing at Averett University and Maryville University. The American Nurses Credentialing Center credentialed her as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Karen has been a Registered Nurse since 1997. She has experience in the cardiac cath laboratory and is an active STEMI team member. She has over 15 years of experience at Memorial Regional Medical Center and Chippenham Hospital, focusing on interventional cardiology.
Additionally, she spent three years working in Non-invasive, providing direct assistance with stress tests, direct current cardioversions, and transesophageal echocardiograms at St. Mary's Hospital.
Karen joined James River Cardiology in February 2022 and is excited to apply her extensive cardiac background in outpatient and inpatient settings.
Outside work, she enjoys traveling, watching sports, primarily football and basketball, and spending time with her husband, three children, and friends.
