Andrea Barden, NP, or Annie as her friends, family, and patients call her, earned her Bachelor's degree in nursing in 2005 and her Master's degree in Nursing in 2008, both at Virginia Commonwealth University.  The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners credentials her as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.

 

As a nurse, Annie worked at VCUHS on the cardiac telemetry step-down unit, caring for congestive heart failure and arrhythmia patients and those preparing for and recovering from procedures such as cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, and pacemaker placement.  She has continued to work primarily in cardiology for the past 15 years.

Annie joined James River Cardiology in September 2023.  She will see all Cardiology patients at our Ashlake Facility. 

 

Outside work, Annie enjoys spending time with her husband, three daughters, and their dog, Teddy.  She loves dancing for exercise, cooking and eating good food (especially supporting the Richmond Restaurant scene), and spending weekends hiking and exploring new Virginia wineries.
